Da Future In Fashion PartyIn one of the largest fashion events to descend upon Hampton Roads, ‘Da Future in Fashion Party’ held May 25th at The Complex in the historical Old Towne Portsmouth brought together the area’s leading fashion designers, boutiques, and local personalities for an evening of red carpet glitz, emerging seasonal trends, and networking with industry tastemakers. Behind the studded occasion was sought after designer and owner of Woman Beautiful Boutique Patricia Rountree. The event, which launched with a 2-hour meet and greet with cocktails was hosted by Hampton Road’s own Satoria Nicole. Featured designers on the runway were Lipgloss-N-Stilettos, Reckless Clothing, CLU Apparel by Kustom Made Designs & Accessories, LLP Supply Company, Boutique Crush, FlyGirl Boutique, Vano Couture, Endowed Expression Boutique, and Woman Beautiful Boutique.

Runway fashions ranged from trendy to futuristic and encompassed a myriad of color and texture in a multifaceted display of artistic expression and Avant Garde style. From eclectic concept designs to ready-to-wear street clothing, an array of styles were revealed for both men and women indicating the quality and distinction that each designer brings to the local scene and beyond. Models illuminated the runway with lightweight summer styles which included maxi-dresses, cropped tops, and flowing skirts adorning floral prints, tribal patterns, camouflage, metallic prints, and solid pastels. Garments with a slighter edge featured spandex and liquid fabrics with a tight fit and short cut.

In addition to an entire vendor area available for patrons, attendees were entertained with a live performance by recording artist G. Profit and event soundtrack provided by VA’s DJ Hipp. The event was a remarkable look into the unique style and flavor that has brought Hampton Roads designers to the forefront as trendsetters not only in the local region but in other areas across the country where their influence is represented.
